Infection Intervention

Mmm. Health needs on a holiday. Spent the day with the colds and flu set in the Emergency Room. WHY are there not regular urgent care places in the Bay Area? Argh. We usually go over to the ER in SF that is faster to get into than any of the East Bay ones that are only good if you are stabbed shot or having a heart attack. It was 1.5 hours in the waiting room and then we were in curtains for hours. Laying around...

So there is no 'aggressive action' in the ER. My back was looking a bit better today anywho, but don't wanna risk anything being able to migrate into my back further so ER it was. They did IV antibiotics (Ancef) and gave me a week worth of Bactrim & Keflex. Flora balance? Nope. None here in the near future.

Gonna see my primary doctor tomorrow. We'll see if she can't hook me up with a wound specialist.

That's what I know.

Hello-

I was excited to find your blog on a google search for Craniocervical Fusion.

My wife was diagnosed with ACM following a car accident in 2005. We eventually made our way to TCI where she had decompression surgery in Set. 2005.

She has recently been in contact with TCI about possible cervical instability and we will likely be returning there soon for evaluation. We look forward to reading your whole blog for any insight that may be helpful as we continue this journey.

I have written some about her experience as well (among other things), which you can read here. I'm not quite up to date but I plan to catch up soon. Click on the links under the heading "There and Back Again: FrankenKristin's Tale".

I wish you the best of luck and a speedy recovery.

I have not had a chance to read all of your blog but it looks like you, as do I, have arachnoiditis. I had a blog going for about 3 years but grew tired of the daily reports and shut it down for a bit. Perhaps someday I will start it again. I wish you the best, I know all too well how painful arachnoiditis can be. It also seems that like myself you have small children in the house. It sucks not being able to do all the things I used to be able to do, like play sports with them due to the scar tissue causing lost feeling in my lower body.

Nothing like waiting rooms, no matter where you are in the world.

Problem is, they're full of sick people!

Stay strong :-)
